I am a Witch
I know that that the above statement scares many people and probably confuses many others.

Many people see witches as ugly old hags, or green with horrible worts riding around on brooms scaring young children from Kansas and there little dogs too.  Remember the Wicked Witch of The West from the MGM movie The Wizard of OZ?

However witches are really nothing at all  like that.  We dress and look like everyone else.   We come in all shapes and sizes, all economic backgrounds, and can be found in all careers.    I am a singer and actress but I have many Pagan friends who are school teachers, lawyers, parents, shop clerks, administrative assistants, and many other proffessions.    You will very rarely know a witch by just looking at them and many times they will not tell you unless you ask them directly.

Paganism, Witchcraft, Wicca, Druidism all of these are religions which have the full protection of the wonderful First Amendment of our country's constitution.

Paganism is not a faith that can be forced on you by others.   It is one that you must come to from your own desire and the longing for a deeper connection with the sacred.

It is not based on dogma or sacred writings supposedly dictated by some Devine Being to a human scribe.   No Pope or Bishop or Minister standing on a pulpit telling us what to do, how to think, what to believe or how to live and run our individual lives.    We believe that we are each responsible for how we live our own lives and that in itself is a rather heavy responsibility.

We take many of our teachings directly from the Universe Herself, we don't need any one else to interpret for us.

People often think that Pagan's believe and worship a character named Satan.    That is so untrue and just shows that the person saying this has no idea about Paganism and what Pagans truley believe.

Satan comes from the Judeo-Christian-Muslim tradition and personifies the good vs. evil duality that is a prominant feature of that belief system.   During the persecution of the indigenous believe systems of the comon people of Europe in the Middle Ages, a time that is refered to now as the European Witch Hunts, the Christian Clergy used the discription of the "The Lord of the Hunt" as the discription of Satan in order to justify their persecution of people still believed in the Old Ways.

For those who have studied the Bible know that Satan's physical dicription is never mentioned.
